We are very proud to offer the following services:
Cataracts
Cataracts cause a clouding of the lens in the eye, making your vision appear to be foggy. Cataracts are the most common cause of vision loss in people over 40 and are the leading cause of blindness in the world.
Your eyes are meant to naturally adjust to normal light changes, adjust focus, and allow us to see both near and far. Your lens is primarily made up of water and proteins. The proper arrangement of these proteins is what contributes to normal vision. Some of these proteins clump together forming a clouding of the lens.
request an appointmentComprehensive Eye Exams
On average, we recommend scheduling an appointment once every two years to ensure your eyes are remaining healthy. If you have been diagnosed with an eye condition, however, we recommend scheduling an appointment once or twice a year depending on the severity.
During your appointment, we will review your patient history, visual acuity, perform preliminary tests, and evaluate your eyes’ overall health.

Soft disposable contact lenses were designed to be a healthier and more convenient approach to contact lens wear. Their introduction revolutionized the way people wore contact lenses. The majority of today’s lenses are disposable because they are convenient and affordable. Throw them away daily, weekly, monthly… disposable or frequent replacement contact lenses are a healthy, time-saving option. Colored disposable contact lenses look great on light and dark eyes, whether you need vision correction or not. Silicone hydrogel contact lenses are a relatively new lens material that delivers high amounts of oxygen to your eyes, enabling 30-day continuous wear for some people.
We always recommend that patients purchase their contact lenses from our office to ensure that the correct lenses are being used. Also if you have any problems with our contacts we are able to help diagnose and correct any issues. Should an issue arise with your contacts, and trial contact lenses are needed, there is a greater chance we will have a set that will work for you if you have ordered contact lenses from us.
Soft Contact Lenses
Soft Contacts are offered in daily and monthly replacement lenses. Many different brands are available to meet everyones unique vision needs.
Toric Lens
Toric contact lenses are designed to correct astigmatism. There are many options available for our astigmatic patients. Daily disposable toric lenses are now available, as well several disposable and frequent replacement brands. Soft conventional toric lenses may be the best choice for some patients.
Bifocal Lens
All of us at some point in time may be facing the challenges of presbyopia. Current technology has given us several choices in bifocal contact lenses. Some patients prefer to have monovision correction for their presbyopia. With this type of fitting the patient wears a distance lens in one eye and a near lens in the other eye.

Lakeside Eye Care is proud to offer dry eye treatment for our patients. Ocular Surface Disease, also known as dry eye, can occur from certain medications, naturally by aging, or as a symptom arising from systemic diseases such as Sjogren’s syndrome, Rheumatoid arthritis, or Lupus. If you have a minor case of dry eye, you may be experiencing irritation, excessive tearing, fluctuating vision, and/or a burning sensation in your eyes. Excessive dry eyes, or dry eye symptoms that go untreated, have the potential to damage eye tissue, scar your corneas, and impair your vision.

LASIK stands for laser in-situ keratomileusis and is a popular surgery to correct vision problems. LASIK can help people who are nearsighted or farsighted, as well those who have astigmatism.
LASIK works by reshaping the cornea with a laser, which allows light to be correctly focused onto the retina. A laser is used to create a small flap in the cornea, which is peeled back so another laser can reshape the cornea. The flap is then placed back and the surgery is complete.

request an appointmentAllergies
Many people struggle with allergies, which lead to itchy and uncomfortable eyes. However, long-term allergies can cause problems such as scratches, ulcers, and even vision problems.
Most people treat their allergies with over-the-counter medications. Antihistamines are commonly used to help. It is also helpful to use eye drops to keep your eyes lubricated, which decreases your chances of harming your eye. Some people find it helpful to flush out their eyes when they have an irritant in them.
However, if over-the-counter medications are not helping or you have pain, redness, or a lot of discharge, you really need to be seen! We sometimes prescribe artificial tears to help. Antihistamines and decongestants can be used together to make a patient much more comfortable. Mast-cell stabilizers are often prescribed because they prevent the body’s allergic response to allergies. For severe reactions, allergy shots may be helpful too!
We are here for you if you have allergies and are struggling with red and itchy eyes. We will go through all of your options until we find what works best for you!
If you have allergies and have questions or would like to be seen, don’t hesitate to contact us today at (972) 874-3926.
